About Margo Home

Margo Hoagland is a USEF “r” dressage judge and USDF Bronze and Silver medalist. She attended Sonoma State University earning a B.A. degree in Biology.
With her husband, Vincent, 3 dogs, 2 cats, sheep, and several horses she lives on a 12 + acre ranch in Sonoma County, California.
Margo has had a life long love of horses. She started riding at the age of 10. She worked as a hot walker at the Polo Field in San Francisco for several years until she got her first horse at age 15. Margo has shown both English and western as well as hunters. At the tender age of 32 she had her first dressage lesson with J. Ashton Moore and fell in love with dressage. After only one lesson she sold all her western equipment and has never looked back.
Margo was privileged to live and ride for nearly a year in Germany during 2003 and 2004. There she was able to ride several FEI level horses. She took lessons from Eva Rainsborough as well as Dolf Keller and Manuela Keller. She found her current partner, Lemon 25, during her stay in Germany and competed successfully with him at M level there.
In 2005 she and her horse Lemon 25 placed 8th in the Open Division USDF Intermediate-1. They also won the Vintage Cup Championship and American Trakehner Assn. Championship at that same level. She has trained a number of horses to 4th level and Prix St. George. Her horses have won year end awards both at the CDS Annual Show and many USDF breed awards from first level to Prix St. George.
